Is this therapy for me?

You may be noticing symptoms as a result of a singular overwhelming event, or longer-term circumstances, that have taken place at any stage of life. It's also possible that you do not have a conscious memory of what has caused overwhelm.

- The overwhelming weight of trying to handle everything on your own.

- Anxiety and fear when facing life transitions or unexpected changes.

- A constant state of stress and unease that just won’t seem to fade.

- A persistent inner struggle to feel worthy and enough.

- A sense of disconnection - unsure of who you are beyond your roles as a parent, partner, or professional.

What to expect in session.

Building Awareness of the Body - You’ll be guided to tune into physical sensations, helping you reconnect with your body’s wisdom and recognize patterns of tension, stress, or overwhelm.

Regulating the Nervous System – I support your body in moving through cycles of activation and settling, allowing stuck energy from past experiences to gently release.

Expanding Resilience – Through grounding techniques and gentle exploration, you’ll develop tools to navigate stress and emotions with more ease.

Completing Unfinished Responses – If your body has been stuck in patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or collapse, I help to facilitate the completion of these protection responses, reducing lingering anxiety or tension.

Integrating Healing at Your Own Pace – This work is not about reliving trauma, but rather about supporting your body in processing it safely—at a pace that feels right for you.

Benefits of somatic therapy.

I use a body-first approach by working with the nervous system rather than relying solely on thoughts and emotions. Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses on “top-down processing”(starting with thoughts and emotions), Somatic Experiencing (SE) uses “bottom-up processing”—helping you tune into physical sensations, movement, and the body’s natural rhythms to unlock deeper healing.

By working with the autonomic nervous system, where trauma is stored, SE helps shift patterns of stress and survival responses, allowing your system to gradually restore balance.

This gentle, body-centered approach works at a slow, manageable pace to prevent overwhelm while increasing your ability to tolerate difficult sensations and suppressed emotions. SE helps “unfreeze” the body’s natural responses, allowing for a healthy flow between activation (stress) and relaxation (calm).

Over time, this process fosters a greater sense of resilience, presence, and connection, helping you move beyond past experiences and into a life that feels more balanced and whole.

What my clients are saying...

“I first met Sineyah when I was going through a personal crisis. As I worked with her, I realized that she has a very special ability to work with people who are in challenging places in their lives. She is kind and offers unconditional positive regard.  I really appreciate not only her skills but her personal approach to her work which is about 100% complete acceptance of people's situation and a true desire to help move them forward out of stuck places. Because of this experience I will always hold a special place in my heart for her. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a practitioner to anyone who is seeking more congruence and deep healing in their lives.”

~ F.M. Vancouver, BC

“I am someone who, as a child, learned to feel safe by staying in my head or thoughts and “leave” my body. Working with Sineyah has given me the opportunity to continue the tender and challenging work of feeling safe in my body. Her deeply compassionate presence and guidance is gentle and really allows me to move at my own pace, with autonomy. Having her as a guide and witness to practice being present to my internal environment while orienting to my external environment is one of the most subtle and powerful practices that Sineyah holds with deep humility and wisdom.”

“Sineyah has the ability to create a very warm, gentle and welcoming space. I feel soothed by her loving presence and the rich wisdom that pours through her words, which are carefully chosen to always be supportive, nurturing and steeped in very accessible, practical intelligence. I especially appreciate Sineyah’s deep reverence for the sacredness of life and her natural instinct to gently awaken the healing magic inside all of us. I warmly recommend working with Sineyah!"

"I have had the pleasure of attending many SE sessions with Sineyah and am so amazed at the results from this style of therapy! I have done many different modalities of therapy over the years and have never felt as present and regulated as I have after a session with her. Sineyah has given me many therapeutic tools to use that are very accessible at any point in a day. She is kind, caring and has a very grounded and calming energy. She’s a fantastic SE counsellor and I highly recommend her."
